Abraham Banda completed his training as a teacher in December 2011. He attended Jubeva Teacher Training College in Chipata for two years to qualify as a Basic or Primary School level teacher. This means that he is qualified to teach grades 1 to 7.
Project Luangwa paid his fees and expenses for his first year at college but in the following year his fees were paid by a kind donor. Before starting his training Abraham agreed to stay and teach in the South Luangwa area for at least two years once he was qualified and although he will not officially get his results until later in the year will start teaching at Katapilla Community School from Term 1 2012 as a volunteer. He will be paid a small allowance to cover his expences and food until offered employment by the Education Board.
